We're Starting the Conversation

Bringing the Experts into Your Living Room

Serious mental illness reshapes the entire family. Too often, caregivers and loved ones are left navigating a complex medical system and a changing home dynamic without a roadmap. You’re might be told what the diagnosis is, but rarely what tools will help you living with the diagnosis as a family, or how to maintain hope when things feel stuck. In some cases, you may not even have a diagnosis yet or you find it changes with time.

Starting the Conversation is a monthly virtual speaker series designed to give you direct access to leading experts in psychiatry, psychology, and family advocacy, all from the comfort of your home.

Why We Started This

"We believe that families shouldn't have to wait for a crisis to get expert advice. By 'starting the conversation' early and often, we can build a world where recovery is a collaborative journey, not a solitary battle."

How It Works

Every month, we host a live, interactive Zoom session featuring a guest expert. We leave the jargon in the clinic, and have an honest dialogue about the things that actually matter. We ask our experts to provide 10 minutes of background on their perspective or practice, and leave the rest of the session to your questions! At these sessions, you'll find:

  • Expert Insight: Gain evidence-based strategies for communication, crisis management, and long-term care.

  • Live Q&A: Get your specific questions answered in a supportive, moderated environment.

  • Community Connection: Join a network of families who understand exactly what you’re going through.
